As the VP, Global Franchise Head Lung Cancer, I am responsible for defining strategy, driving growth and maximising performance across AstraZeneca’s diverse lung cancer portfolio.
My passion lies in bridging priorities between the business and health sectors to accelerate a patient-centric business model and shape global health systems to ultimately improve patient outcomes.
I joined AstraZeneca Japan in 2012 and have since held market-level, regional and global roles across geographies, overseeing oncology product lifecycles from development to commercialisation, navigating unique market access issues, and demonstrating alliance leadership, including at the inception of AstraZeneca’s alliance with Daiichi Sankyo. In 2020, I was appointed Co-Chair of the Patient Centricity Steering Committee, an internal working group dedicated to embedding the patient perspective into AstraZeneca’s DNA.
Before joining AstraZeneca, I worked in the consumer goods sector of a multinational organisation, where I oversaw international marketing, sales and business development, and expanded company operations into high-potential markets across four continents.
I received my MBA from the Indian School of Business and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Punjab Technical University in India.
What inspires – and humbles – me most in my role is getting to work with some of the brightest minds in science to redefine cancer care and tangibly transform outcomes for patients. If we’re not moving the needle for people living with cancer, we’re not doing our jobs.
